12 january 2010: i'm packing for the desert and working lots - spent last 5 days in the studio painting (i started 2 paintings i've been dreaming about for years)- that's where i love to be - photo, video, web, shows keep me away. blogging will probably be random soon. i will do my best. no signal in the desert (where i will be) random indeed. thinking of ending the dates on here and changing the look to match the web site when it is finally finished - unfortunately i can not control the font on every browser (or at least don't know how), so maybe i kill font altogether. soon we'll see. thanks to those who intentionally read. i drank 2 hot toddies and 3 glasses of wine. i think. desperately seeking susan is starting. laurie metcalf!

i decided to make a dudesnude profile as a social experiment ;) in one week my dudesnude profile had 66577 views
in one month my "ME9 selections" video (a piece from my solo show) had only 1 view on vimeo (which was possibly my own when checking the video)
somewhere there is a conclusion statement to this experiment that i just haven't concluded yet.

all of the "best of the decade" lists are coming out kids and if you are interested in film, joe bowman's blog 
is seriously serious. not only does joe link the way to a plethora of other cinema blogs & "best of" lists, he also has cataloged, reviewed, analyzed and collected images from the best of the best and the worst of the worst from the past 10 years. i've spent hours investigating what i hadn't investigated.

joe bowman #2 was a texas sharpshooter who taught the ways of gun handlin' to the likes of robert duvall, john wayne, sammy davis jr., charlton heston (to name a few) as well as some of them damn pesky FBI agents, SWAT teams & police officers. joe could "blast an aspirin to powder at 30 paces and split a playing card edgewise at 20." he trained his eye off the back porch of his childhood home by picking flies off garbage cans with a bb gun. soon after he served during WWII, where he was injured in a landmine explosion and received 3 bronze stars and a purple heart. he toured the country as a straight shooter, magician and a trick roper (see his luxury tour van below). joe's heart attacked him on june 28, 2009 and he died at the age of 84 while still on tour. hopefully joe is up there in heaven sharp shooting some wayward angels for jesus.
